Bus Rapid Transit

Inspite of build Mass Rapit Transportation (MRT) or monorail, Jakarta government has already decide to implement the Bus Way system as its public transportation. We usually call it TransJakarta or Busway. But yesterday Jakarta governor give new name for the transportation system as 'Bus Rapid Transit'. Well, it just seems similar between MRT and BRT.

So far, the implementation plan of subway and monorail is not clear enough. Both of the two systems are still facing financial problem.

However, Jakarta people really need integrated transportation system. The traffic jam in the city already make Jakartan headache and suffered loose Rp12,8 trillion per year.

What we hope, the system must keep improve and covers wider area. Jakarta people really need safe, cheap, rapid and comfortable public transportation. Its the only solution to reduce people using own vehicle and move to public transportation. At the end, the traffic jam 'nightmare' in Jakarta can be offered.

Jakarta is over load

It's only three months after the big flood attacking 70% of Jakarta area. Almost 5% of 10 million Jakarta citizen had to be refugees because they lost their home. The economic damage of the flood was estimated Rp4,1 trillion.

Now, everybody seems already forgotten about the disaster. The river maintenance is stop. The waste management is not improved, even the people still not aware to keep clean their environment. The politician is now busy for the next election, but most of us forget to improve the city. What we can see now is Jakarta has already overload. So, there will be no solution but stop the development in the city! On the contrary, all the activities have to be moved to the other provinces and villages to stop people from the rural area coming to Jakarta.

Singapore, supermarket of tourism

Singapore is really a supermarket for tourism. The city offers almost everything: shopping, meeting and conference , art and culture, kids world, resorts. You can have fun with your children in Sentosa Island, watching romantic opera with your couple in Esplanade, shopping in Orchard Rd or Bugis Street, even you can clubbing in the Ministry of Sound. The Singapore government currently is planning to hold F1 circuit in the city street and casino in one of its island.

Unfortunately, Singapore is not heaven for tourist who looking for sex service. Even Singaporean prefer to go to Bintan Island to enjoy the kind of intertainment.

Three options for Jakarta people

Jakarta people will have three options for the next governor election. After big coalition lead by Golkar Party, PDI-P, and Demokrat Party named Fauzi Bowo as their candidates and Adang Daradjatun-Dani Anwar as candidates from PKS, today PAN and PKS agreed to give their support to an alternative candidates named Sarwono-Jeffrie Giovani. "I will campaign for the clean Jakarta," said Sarwono.

However, the new coalition still have looking for more support from other party. So, who will be the next 'Jakarta governator'? We'll see.
